Obverse: At the bottom is the logo of the Olympic Games, and at the top is the flagpole with a cross. The words "2021 PORTUGAL NOS JOGOS OLIMPICOS DE TOQUIO" (Portugal in Tokyo Olympic games) and twelve stars of the European Union are engraved around the images.
Reverse: regular 2 euro denomination.
About the coin: originally scheduled for release in 2020, but due to the global pandemic, the coin was postponed, and finally, the coin was issued by Portugal in 2021 as a commemorative 2-euro coin dedicated to Portugal’s participation in the Tokyo Summer Olympics.
