Obverse: The obverse of the commemorative coin depicts the main motif – the fortress “Old Town of Varaždin”. In addition to the main motif, the coin contains inscriptions: issuing country (Croatia), year of issue 2024, and the name of the fortress “Old Town of Varaždin”, inscribed in a circle along the edge of the coin’s core.
Reverse: The reverse of the coin features the 2 euro denomination and the map of Europe.
About the coin: This is the first Croatian 2 euro commemorative coin within the Croatian Cities series, depicting a historical building in the city of Varaždin, which has significant historical and cultural value for the Republic of Croatia. This image was one of the main motifs on the reverse side of the 5 kn banknote.
