About the coin: The Perugino 2 euro BU coin in a card is dedicated to commemorating the 500th anniversary of Perugino's death. Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino, was one of the greatest masters of the Italian Renaissance, having a significant influence on his contemporaries. The oil painting "Madonna and Child, Saint Sebastian, and Saint John the Baptist" created in 1493 was commissioned by Cornelia Salviati, the widow of the Florentine merchant Giovanni Martini, for the chapel in the Church of San Domenico in Fiesole. The painting can currently be seen in the Uffizi Gallery. This commemorative coin is a wonderful way to honour the exceptional work and cultural legacy of this unique artist.
