Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts a stylised image of a beetle. The words 'LUONNONSUOJELU NATURSKYDD' in Finnish, the year of issue '2023', the country code 'FI' and the mintmark of the Finnish Mint are engraved in a semicircle around the image. The outer part of the coin features the twelve stars of the European Union.
