Obverse: the front side features priest and poet Maironis. At the top is the inscription LIETUVOS BANKAS, and at the bottom – the denomination DVIDEŠIMT LITŲ. In the center, above the denomination, is the year of printing – 2001, and below it – the signature of the Chairman of the Board of the Bank of Lithuania.
Reverse: depicted is the Vytautas the Great War Museum complex in Kaunas. Maironis is buried near this museum. The second element on the reverse is J. Zikaras' sculpture Liberty, representing a winged woman breaking the chains of oppression. At the bottom – the denomination DVIDEŠIMT LITŲ, and in the top right corner – the coat of arms of Lithuania.
