Reverse: the reverse of the coin shows a map of Europe, the denomination 10 EURO, the country name and year ESPAÑA 2002, and the inscription PRESIDENCIA DE LA UNIÓN EUROPEA. On the right side, the mintmark M is engraved.
About the coin: the coin was issued to commemorate Spain’s presidency of the European Union during the first half of 2002. It was a significant period, as Spain, as an EU member, assumed the rotating presidency of the Council.
