About the coin: Otto was King of Bavaria, and ruled from 1886 to 1913. However, he never actively managed the country due to a serious mental illness. His uncle and cousin served him as helpers and counsellors. 1913 Cousin Ludwig was given the freedom to stand for the post of King Otto for a new law that gave him the privilege to do so.
