Reverse: the reverse depicts a portrait of Georgi S. Rakovski. His name appears around the portrait, while the years “1821–1867” are shown below.
About the coin: this silver coin commemorates the 150th anniversary of the birth of Georgi Stoykov Rakovski. He was one of the leading figures of the Bulgarian National Revival, a revolutionary, writer, journalist, and ideologist of the Bulgarian liberation movement. Rakovski is widely regarded as one of the founders of the organized struggle for Bulgaria’s independence from the Ottoman Empire.
