Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts the image of the coat of arms of Barbados, along with the face value, the date of issue and the name of the issuing country "BARBADOS". The coin depicts a shield adorned with two Barbados prides, the flowers, the national flower of Barbados and the fig tree (ficus Citrifolia). On one side of the shield is a dolphin fish symbolizing the fishing industry and on the other is a pelican symbolizing the Pelican Island, a small outcrop that is included in the development of the deep water port. Above the shield is a helmet and a Bayan hand holding two crossed cane pieces, symbolizing the sugar industry. On the underside of the coat of arms is the motto of Pride and Industry of Barbados.
Reverse: the reverse of the coin reflects the image of a flying fish and depicts the Caribbean Sea in the background. Around the central figure is the name of the coin "FLYING FISH", the purity "999 FINE SILVER", the weight "1 TROY OUNCE" and the date of issue "2019".
