The left bank of the coin features the name and location of the country ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ (Greece) and the ARCHAEOLOGICAL SITE OF PHILIPPI, as well as the year 2017. The coin depicts Palmetta (Stylized Palm twig), which is a sign of the Greek National Coin Mint.

About the coin: The coin was issued by the writer of contemporary Greek literature, Nikos Kazantzakis, in the 60's on the anniversary of his death.
