Obverse: On the 1 and 2 euro coins depicts the Maltese Order emblem - an octagonal cross, on 10, 20 and 50 cent coins depicting a shield representing the Maltese flute and a crown of bricks embodying the Maltese fortifications and state status, and on the 1, 2 and 5 cent coins depict 3600 m. pr Kr. The altar of the prehistoric temple of Mnajdra was built.
Reverse: Ordinary euro coin denomination numbers.
