Obverse: The obverse shows the coat of arms of Nicaragua. The design of the coat of arms is a triangle with a gold border, five volcanoes on the shore of a lake, a rainbow and a Phrygian cap. The obverse of the coin shows the year of issue "1975" and the legend "REPUBLICA DE NICARAGUA AMERICA CENTRAL".
Reverse: The Liberty Bell depicted on the reverse divides the date "1776 - 1976". The inscription "HOMENAJE A LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DE AMERICA" is engraved on the top of the coin, the denomination "50 CORDOBAS" is indicated on the bottom.
