About the coin: the Indian princess was the first in a series to feature a Lady Liberty with local feathered headgear. Agricultural elements such as wheat, corn, tobacco and cotton were included in the new open wreath. The design of this coin was created by James Longacre. These coins are very popular among collectors because of their high historical value and significance. It is the smallest gold coin ever minted in the United States. Only a third of the Indian princess gold dollar coins were issued, making it a truly rare, valuable and historical find.
