Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts an emu bird and its cub standing in the wild in Australia. The name of the coin "AUSTRALIAN EMU" is engraved at the top, the year, weight and fineness of the metal type "2022 1 OZ 9999 GOLD" are engraved at the bottom. There is also a mintmark letter “P” embossed on the top right.
Reverse: the reverse of the coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II (Australia has a constitutional monarchy under which Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is also the Queen of Australia). The words "ELIZABETH II" and the name of the country "AUSTRALIA" are engraved around the image of the Queen, and the denomination "100 DOLLARS" is engraved at the bottom. Below the image of the queen are engraved designer initials JC (Jody Clark).
