About the coin: The coin depicts two portraits of Charles de Gaulle at two different stages in his life. An abstract portrait of the General in the background represents the period in which he was General of the Army, the time of the liberation of Paris. The following figure is a forged portrait of elder de Gaulle, a period in which he represented the president's position, a seven-year term. In the foreground to the left is Lothringerkreuz, a symbol of free France, elected by General de Gaulle in 1940. The French Republic's monogram "RF", de Gaulle's birth and death "1890 - 1970", as well as the year of coin issue "2020" are integrated in the composition.
