About the coin: the 2019 Portuguese commemorative 2-euro coin dedicated to the 600th anniversary of the discovery of the Madeira Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. Madeira, adjacent to Porto Santo Desertas and a few other small islands, form the Madeira archipelago, which since 1419 belonged to Portugal.
