Reverse: the certificate's name "ROYAL CANADIAN MINT" appears at the top of the certificate and the French name "MONNAIE ROYALE CANADIENNE" at the bottom of the certificate. The reverse of the coin itself consists of a national Canadian symbol - Maple leaf over which the state name "CANADA" is drawn, the gold purity of the coin "9999" on both sides of the maple leaf. The bottom of the coin features the weight and gold purity "FINE GOLD 1 g OR PUR".
Obverse: coin weight and gold purity "1 g 9999 FINE GOLD" are written at the top of the back of the certificate. the bottom of the certificate also includes the weight of the coin and the gold gem "1 g OR PUR", below the unique certificate number. The obverse of the coin depicts Queen Elizabeth II (a constitutional monarchy in Canada, where Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is also a Canadian monarch). The Queen's name, "ELIZABETH II", and "50 CENTS" at the bottom, are minted at the top of the coin.
