Obverse: The obverse of the coin features the official portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings. The legend of the coin is placed around and the denomination "CHARLES III D G REX F D 100 POUNDS" is indicated.
Reverse: The reverse depicts one of the royal beasts of the Tudors - a dragon and the inscription "TUDOR DRAGON", the year "2024", and the precious metal " 1 oz FINE PLATINUM 999.5". The reverse was created by designer David Lawrence.
About the coin: During the Middle Ages, dragons were prominent symbols of power and descent. According to surviving manuscripts from the period, the Tudor dragon was depicted with a red head, back and wings, with a golden underside. This coin series will consist of 10 coins featuring the iconic animals: The English Lion, Clarence Bull, Tudor Dragon, Richmond Greyhound, Royal Dragon, Beaufort's Griffon, Seymour's Unicorn, Queen's Panther, Queen's Lion and Seymour's Panther.
