Obverse: The center of the coin depicts St. Catherine and St. Mauritius Magdenburg Cathedral, which is the oldest Gothic cathedral in Germany. The year of mintage "2021" is engraved on the top of the coin, below the name of the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt "SACHSEN-ANHALT", below the cathedral, below the letter "D", meaning the name of the German state (Deutschland). On the left side of the cathedral, depending on the mint, the letter A, D, F, G or J is engraved which is the mintmark (A - Belryn, D - Munich, F - Stuttgart, G - Karlsruhe and J - Hamburg).
Reverse: A regular denomination number of 2 euros.
About the coin: This is the penultimate 15th German commemorative 2-euro coin dedicated to the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt, depicting Germany's oldest Gothic cathedral in Magdenburg. Construction of this cathedral began in 1209 and lasted for almost 300 years. The cathedrals of the cathedral reach a height of up to 100 meters. This cathedral is a masterpiece of Central European Gothic.
