Obverse: the obverse of the coin depicts a mythological creature, Griffon, taken from an ancient Greek drachma coin. The legend "100 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ ΑΠΟ ΤΗΝ ΕΝΣΩΜΑΤΩΣΗ ΤΗΣ ΘΡΑΚΗΣ" (eng. 100th anniversary of the unification of Greece and Thrace) is engraved at the top, the name of the state and the year of minting the coin "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ 2020" (the Hellenic Republic 2020) at the bottom. Among the legends is a palm branch carved, which is a sign of the Greek Mint. The outer ring of the coin features the twelve stars of the European Union.
Reverse: regular 2€ denomination.
Edge: the words "ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ ★" (Eng. the Hellenic Republic) are engraved.
