About the coin: It is considered that the Roman Catholic Church formally received state status and part of the Italian lands in 754-756, when the first Carolingian dynasty, the King of Franks, Pipin Short handed over these lands to the church led by Pope Stephen II. February 11, 1926 Pope Pius XI and the Italian Government have succeeded in signing a special Lateran agreement. Based on it, the Vatican State was created, the Roman Catholic Church acquired its exclusive status in Italy, and the Holy See refused to claim the land that had previously belonged to the ecclesiastical state.
