Obverse: in the center of the coin depicts a globe on which minted words "World Food Programme". The outer ring of the coin is the 12 stars of the European Union. The globe shows the penis wheat, rice and corn corncob penis - the three grains representing the world's basic sources of nourishment. On the right side of the globe superimposed alphabet "I" next to the "R" of the alphabet represents Repubblica Italiana, and below them are the lesser of the "U" and "P" is a combination of letters that represent the initials of the engraver, Uliana Pernazza. Coins on the top left side of the globe is superimposed over the mint mark "R" at the bottom of the coin mintage year "2004". The outer ring of the coin shows the stylized in 12 European Union stars.
